Recording of Mallards (their pre-wintering cluster), Great tits, Blue tits, Hooded crows, Eurasian sparrows. There are also various background sounds; the sound of the wind, of leaves rustling in the trees, of the river, of a dog barking.
Запис крижнів (їх передзимувальне скупчення), великих синиць, блакитних синиць, сірих ворон, польових горобців. Також можна чути різноманітні фонові звуки: звук вітру, шурхотіння листя на деревах, шум річки, собачий гавкіт.
I made the recording in a place where wintering flocks of ducks gather on the Dnipro River. In the morning, the birds were very calm, and so I created my recording from three recordings and captured any sounds that I could record. I recorded Mallards and small Passerine birds near the water, Passer montanus [European sparrows], Blue tits and Crows. We have a very big population of Crows. We also have a colony of Herons and Cormorants. During the last few years, Cormorants have stayed during winter in large numbers. But if we want to know something about the impact of the war on birds, we must work closer to the front line. We are so far away from it here. We are the centre of Ukraine.
Я зробила цей запис у місці скупчення зимуючих зграй качок на річці Дніпро. Вранці птахи були дуже спокійні, тож я скомпонувала свій запис із трьох коротших записів і зафіксувала усі звуки, які могла записати. Біля води я записала крижнів і малих горобцеподібних, Passer montanus [горобці польові], блакитних синиць та ворон. У нас дуже велика популяція ворон. Також у нас є колонія чапель та бакланів. Протягом останніх кількох років баклани залишаються тут зимувати у великій кількості. Але якщо ми хочемо щось знати про вплив війни на птахів, ми повинні працювати ближче до лінії фронту. Тут, фактично в самому центрі України, ми значно далі від усього цього.
