Professor Janine Natalya Clark
Professor Janine Natalya Clark (PI) is an interdisciplinary scholar whose research interests include transitional justice, war, resilience, social-ecological systems, human-animal relations and posthumanism. She has published four research monographs and one co-edited book. Her work has also been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including the International Journal of Transitional justice, Environmental Sociology, the British Journal of Sociology, Review of International Studies, the Journal of Intervention & Statebuilding and Qualitative Research. Increasingly, Janine also enjoys creative writing. Prior to leading this project, she was the PI of a five-year research project (724568) funded by the European Research Council.

Dr Oleksii Marushchak
Dr Oleksii Marushchak (research consultant) is a Junior Researcher at the Department of Animal Monitoring and Conservation at the I. I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology, part of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He holds a PhD in Biology, after successfully defending his PhD thesis entitled ‘Current state of amphibians of rightcoastal Polissia’. Oleksii has authored more than 180 scientific works (including collective monographs, theses, proceedings, abstracts, seven articles in Ukrainian scientific journals that are included in the ‘List of professional scientific publishers of Ukraine’ and 30 articles published in international peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science). He has participated in more than 50 international and all-Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences, and he is a member of the Ukrainian Herpetological Society. Oleksii is the Scientific Director of the Responsible Herpetoculture Foundation, where he applies his immense scientific knowledge to creating and reviewing materials for the Foundation and the Responsible Herpetoculture Journal. He is also the co-founder of one of the largest nature protection NGOs in Ukraine – the Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group (UNCG). His sphere of interest includes faunistics, herpetoculture, responsible breeding, herpetology, GIS-modelling, nature conservation, eco-education, morphology, data digitalisation and publishing of information about biodiversity.

Dr Bryan Pijanowski
Dr Bryan Pijanowski (soundscape ecology consultant) is a Professor and University Faculty Scholar of Soundscape Ecology in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University located in West Lafayette, Indiana. He received his PhD in avian behavioural ecology from Michigan State University and his BS from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. He has published over 180 scientific articles, is ranked by Stanford University as one of the top 2% of all scientists in the world and has written the definitive textbook in the area called Principles of Soundscape Ecology: Discovering Our Sonic World. His work has been featured by CNN, NBC Today Show, New York Times Magazine, NPR Weekend Edition, NPR Science Friday, Canadian Geographic Magazine, The Guardian and Science News. He is also the executive producer of a big screen, giant screen, interactive educational film for youth called Global Soundscapes! A Mission to Record the Earth, which is being shown in science theatres in the U.S., Canada and Germany.
